AMAwuli Shule ya Sababu (AMASS) holds true to offering education that nurtures the dedicated along a path of competency development with a definitive pursuit of self-knowledge where thinking, understanding and taking solution-based initiatives in matters are paramount to living a life fulfilled. In a caring and highly disciplined environment, we relate through the living ideology of UBUNTU – our observed connectedness as people where the “I AM” is because “YOU ARE” and you are because “WE ARE!” Therefore, the I with the YOU and the WE becomes the US where then significance of an individual is translated as one intricately tied to a recognition and dutiful attendance to situations impacting the collective.

Astute adherence to instruction, process, and communication between all parties involved, enables the development and sustainment of trust and the right character traits. These requirements, are demanded of those entrusted to educate and safeguard the health of humanity, beginning with, self. Between the school, the home and society at large, we are focused on an intercontinental understanding of the world where one is a microcosm of an integral whole.

Mission & Vision

AMAwuli Shule ya Sababu nurtures informed minds principled on human-centered values. Accordingly, it is held, without ambiguity to notion, that children are not the future, but rather, the future for which they are prepared to uphold in stewardship. Therefore, educated within this premise, guided by the principles of Heshima, Kujali, Jukumu, generations of children will develop with direction; serve as a testament to educational worth; have a connection to a sense of relevance; contribute positively to society and find fulfillment in the human experience for self and others.

School Philosophy

A person does not live beyond their self-image and cannot thrive striving to be an imitation of another. At AMASS, we base the educational pedagogy of the learner on a socio-relational aspect of development where potential is identified, interests explored, and each child challenged to furthered levels of pragmatism and inspiration. As such, intelligence is defined through the application of self with thought, reason and creative contributions to solving problems as members of a greater society.  The emphasis by instructorship is on content, context, and meaning where learners are taught to take ownership and initiative in their education process while family collaboration must account as well. Ultimately, success for a learner at AMASS is not inferred in grade point averages or letters, but evident in what is demonstrated by the learner in their choices, solutions they can create, and an understanding of a world where they recognize themselves as significantly relevant and live a life governed by such comprehension.
